Through Our Eyes: Hurricane Helene
A Community’s Photographic Memory One Year Later

We invite community members to contribute photographs for a heartfelt commemorative photo book titled Through Our Eyes: A Community’s Photographic Memory One Year Later.

This special publication, produced by the Million Memory Project, will mark the one-year anniversary of Hurricane Helene’s impact on Hot Springs, NC. Net proceeds will support Rebuild Hot Springs Area.

The book will feature compelling images from both professional photographers and local residents—capturing the heartbreak, resilience, and recovery that shaped our town in the aftermath of the storm. Written reflections from community members and leaders will accompany the photographs.

Be part of the story we’ll pass down. One that speaks of resilience, remembrance, and the spirit of Hot Springers for years to come.

Photo submissions are open until July 15, 2025.

A commemorative photo book capturing the resilience, aftermath, and rebuilding efforts of Hot Springs, NC, following Hurricane Helene. The book, published by the Million Memory Project, will include 100–150 curated photographs from professional photographers, community submissions, and editorial commentary. Net proceeds will benefit Rebuild Hot Springs Area, a community-driven 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization leading the rebuilding efforts.
